iTunes allows you to copy MP3s from your computer to your iPod, and do everything but copy those MP3s back to your computer. But now with iPod Viewer, you can do just that. Just launch the application, import the songs from your iPod, select the songs you want to copy, choose where you want to copy the songs to, and transfer the files.

Pandora Recovery is a powerful free tool that provides its users an effective way to attempt recovery of permanently deleted files.

All you do is open the application and select the partition you want to scan. Once the program starts it will begin to list all the deleted files it found as well as the files health (If it is recoverable or not). You can filter results by filename and size. Once you find the file you want to recover, a simple right click will allow you to restore the file to any external media of your choosing.

The free program TheLastStream, which is compatable with Windows, Linux and Mac, saves Last.fm streams into MP3s.
